HERE’S a chance to dance like the stars in Dancing with the Stars.
A new dance school has been set up in Lilydale’s Ballare Ballroom to cater for all levels of dancers caught up in ballroom fever and wanting to learn the right moves to give them greater confidence on the dance floor.
The classes will be run by Croydon resident Monica Fincham and her dance partner Andrew Howlett, who have been ballroom dancing for 10 years and are national amateur champions in New Vogue.
Their school, Dancesport Kingdom will teach a range of dances including waltz, salsa, cha-cha, foxtrot, merenge, new vogue, jive, tango and rock ‘n’ roll.
According to Monica all that is required from participants is a spring in their step, a light-hearted attitude and a willingness to join in and learn while having fun.
“The classes are held in a large studio and have a fun, social atmosphere. You don’t even need to bring a partner along,” she said.
Socials and classes for all ages and levels are on Wednesdays and Fridays and held at 24 Main Street, Lilydale.
For further information phone Monica at Dancesport Kingdom on 0439 442 322, or visit www.dancesportkingdom.com.auwebsite.
