Juniors back in the swing

THE junior teams were fortunate to get their first day in before the rain started.
Under 17(2): Monbulk batted first, making 81. Belgrave started their innings with 0/9 at end of play.
Under 15(2): Monbulk made a good score, reaching 142. Top scorers were Brynn Evans 37, Tom Hope 28, and Brad Hilton 22.
Under 13(2A) Monbulk Gold: The two Monbulk U13 teams have met each other in this round. Maroon took to the bat, making 8/154, although some wickets went cheaply. Top batsmen were Brodie Emmett 36 not out, Cameron Griffith 28, and Duncan Maher 13.
In reply, the Golds batted well to be on 1/47 at end of the day, with Nicholas Keegan 24 not out. In the bowling, Matt Taylor took 4/27, with Nicholas Keegan and Liam O’Brian one wicket each.
