Car hunt for robber

KNOX detectives have called for help in tracking down a man who is robbing elderly Knox women.
Detectives believe that a male in a stolen Ford Maverick with registration plate EBK569 has been approaching elderly women throughout Knox who have withdrawn cash from ATMs.
Three ladies, all in their 80s from the Knox area, had their handbags stolen last week, with one dragged from her car and another assaulted before the theft.
The male is described as being Caucasian, 20 to 30 years old, with short brown hair, clean shaven and wearing a dark peaked cap, dark clothing and a light green reflective vest.
The Ford Maverick has been described as having distinguishing roof racks.

Man pushed through window

BELGRAVE police are investigating an incident after a Belgrave man was pushed through a shop front window in Burwood Highway, Belgrave, last week.
Police believe the incident occurred during the early hours of Sunday, 11 September.
The man was taken to the Angliss Hospital to receive stitches to a large wound.

Motorbike injuries

A FERNTREE Gully teenager was rushed to hospital after a motorbike accident last Sunday, 1.30pm.
Knox police senior sergeant Phil Edmunds said a 17yearold male was riding a motorised minibike on a push bike track parallel to the Burwood Highway, Ferntree Gully, when he collided with a wire fence near St Joseph’s College. The teen was taken to the Angliss Hospital with nonlife threatening injuries after he was thrown from the bike, and a strand of wire hit his face.
