Club’s cocktail mix

By Tania Martin
MONBULK Rotary Club has invited the community to its annual cocktail party to be held at Friends On The Hill on Wednesday, 17 May.
The cocktail party is for people who are interested in joining Rotary or just finding out what it is all about.
Member Annie McBride said the faces of the Rotary are changing, with women and men joining together to provide support on numerous projects.
Ms McBride said Rotary’s image is no longer just ‘men in suits’, as Monbulk Rotary has 11 members five women and six men.
Monbulk Rotary has a sausage sizzle once a month and invites along anyone who is interested in joining the club.
The club has provided support for many projects over recent years at a cost of more than $100,000, including carols by candlelight services, and raising funds for the Monbulk Preschool to improve playing surfaces to meet safety standards. Monbulk Rotary also helps raise money for the Monbulk fire brigade and holds a youth exchange program to sponsor and host overseas students.
Finger food will be provided along with a glass of champagne or fruit juice on arrival at Friends On The Hill in Monbulk from 6-8pm. Anyone interested in attending the party should contact Annie McBride on 9756 6308 for bookings before Monday, 15 May.
