MONBULK’S Under 17(2) batted last week, making 9/81, with Michael Bednarz 17 and Justin Sproules 15. On the second day, Belgrave took the win with 5/109. Monbulk denied their opposition an outright win, making 2/81 in its second innings, with Paul Steen not out on 36, Justin Sproules 20 and Nick Janson 16 not out.
Under 15(2): Monbulk made 9/142 last week. Top scorers were Bryn Evans 37, Tom Hope 28, and Brad Hilton 22. In reply, St Johns Mountain Gate made a score of 9/232 taking the points. Monbulk bowlers Bryn Evans, Martin Spencer and Lachlan Henwood took two wickets each.
Under 13(2A): The two Monbulk U13 teams have met each other in this round. Maroon took to the bat last week, making 9/154, although some wickets went cheaply. Top batsmen include Brodie Emmett 36 not out, Cameron Griffith 28, and Duncan Maher 13.
The Gold bowler Matt Taylor took 4 wickets for 27 runs, with Nicholas Keegan and Liam O’Brian one wicket each. In reply, the Golds batted well to come out on top with 6/186 at end of the second day, with not out batsmen Nicholas Keegan 35, Daniel Carr 30 and Liam Machin 22. Maroon bowlers Joel McInnes and Dylan Weir took 2 wickets each, and Cameron Griffith 1 wicket.
