Roll up, girls, to learn to skate

GIRLS wanting to learn how to skate with the best of the boys should roll on down to the Monbulk Skate Park on Wednesday, 18 January for a free skateboarding clinic.
The clinic is for girls only and is being run by the Shire of Yarra Ranges youth services team and will be taught by a qualified female coach.
Melissa Gebbing from youth services said the clinic was a perfect opportunity for girls to learn the basics of skateboarding in a girls only environment. “The clinic is suitable for girls of all ages and skill levels. Participants will learn all elements of skateboarding from safety, stance, board components and set up through to basic tricks,” she said.
The free clinic will be held at the Monbulk Skate Park in Moores Road, Monbulk, from 3pm to 5pm.
For bookings or enquires contact the Shire of Yarra Ranges youth services on 9294 6716.
