FRIENDLY pirates, a sleepy scarecrow, a princess and a white rabbit caused a lot of fun at Mountain District Christian School during the month of June.
More than 175 preschoolers visited the Christian school in Monbulk during the last few weeks of term two.
The exciting excursion program which entertained children through an educational experience was provided free of charge to local preschools.
Seven different groups of preschoolers enjoyed the fun of either the Library Adventure, where books came to life, or a taste of the Scamps music program, which was designed for three to five-year-olds.
Children enjoyed chasing the white rabbit around the school grounds, weaving in and out of classrooms and playgrounds, before joining in with stories, singing and fun activities.
Staff and volunteer parents worked together to produce a quality program for the little visitors.
“It was a delightful experience,” said Janet Nyhouse, community relations officer for the school.
“We got to meet so many beautiful children and enjoy watching them relate to our fun characters.”
The excursions are part of the school’s promotional drive leading up to its Prep Open Day on Saturday, 28 July.
“Now that families have had a taste of our school through these preschool visits, we hope they will take a closer look at Mountain District as they consider the future education of their children,” said Janet.
Further incentives for families to consider Mountain District Christian School include a new lower fee policy and a new family rebate of $1000 from the first year’s fees.
“With our fees being reduced by up to 40 per cent, a new family can now enrol their first child in Prep for as low as $1500,” said Janet.
“This is exciting news for young families, who desire quality Christian education.”
The Prep Open Day is from 10am until 1pm, with a complimentary lunch and great activities for young children.
