Shire recycles its Eco membership

THE Shire of Yarra Ranges is to continue its membership of the ECOBuy program for the next three years.
In February 2002 the council became a member of the Local Government Buy Recycled Alliance, now known as ECOBuy. ECOBuy is Victoria’s local government green purchasing program which aims to encourage councils to increase their purchase of recycled, greenhouse friendly and environmentally prepared products.
The shire’s director of corporate services Mick Cummins said the council’s continued commitment to ECOBuy would strengthen and enhance the council’s sustainability policy.
