Warning call after tree theft

By Tania Martin
A MONBULK family has voiced its disappointment over the theft of an ornamental maple tree from its front yard.
Pauline Posch said the tree was stolen some time on Saturday, 26 November from her garden in David Hill Road.
She said the tree was purchased at a Monbulk Primary School plant sale in March.
Ms Posch said she had spent many hours caring for and watering the tree.
“Whoever stole the tree from us needs to replace it by Christmas so that it can live a long and sheltered life,” she said.
Ms Posch said that she had notified police of the theft but had not made a report as she felt it would be a waste of the police’s time, but at the same time felt they should know about the theft.
She said she didn’t notice the tree was missing until Monday, 28 November when taking the family dog for a walk.
Ms Posch warns other residents in the area to keep an eye out for any would-be plant thieves.
