Ancient art of yoga

ANYONE can learn the ancient art of yoga at classes being held in Monbulk at the Kallista Dance Academy, where certified yoga teacher Clare Pritchard offers individual attention to ensure all students benefit.
Clare is the owner of Yoga @ Monbulk, where she started classes in April.
“I offer the Iyengar style of yoga which is suitable for all levels of experience,” she said.
“Yoga has many physical and mental benefits for students. It can help with back pain, sleeping difficulties, stress management and many other health issues.”
Clare began practising yoga in 1996 and progressed to teaching in 2003. “I have visited India to study four times,” she said.
“Last year I spent one month at the Ramamani Iyengar Yoga Institute where the founder of this style of yoga, Mr Iyengar, who is almost 90 years old, still practises and teaches.”
Classes are held on Mondays at 9.15am and Tuesdays at 8.30pm at the Kallista Dance Academy, 18 Main Street, Monbulk with the next course commencing on 27 August.
Clare is also holding a free “come and try” class at 3pm on Sunday 26 August and welcomes anyone interested in finding out more about yoga to come along.
For further information contact Clare on 0415 789 266.
