BEWITCHED, a nosetwitching family comedy, has attempted to recreate the magic of the original television situation comedy series that was shown throughout the 1960s.
Recreating the magic of Bewitched, Isabel (Nicole Kidman) is a witch living in California, who is trying to live without using magic.
Meanwhile, Jack (Will Farrell) is trying desperately to reignite his acting career and sets his sights on starring in a modern version of the television classic, Bewitched.
Bumping into Isabel in a bookstore, Jack convinces the naive witch to take a screen test for the television series.
Excited over her new career as an actress, Isabel does not realise that her part in the series is a role without lines.
But, overhearing Jack talking to his manager, Isabel soon realises she has been taken for a fool.
The film takes a turn when Isabel is convinced by her Aunt Clara to use magic to cast a hex on Jack.
Not liking what happens to Jack when under the spell of magic, Isabel rewinds time and decides to talk to Jack about his behaviour instead of turning to witchcraft.
Isabel asserts herself, telling Jack what an arrogant and selfobsessed idiot he has been.
Taking the emphasis off the recreation of Bewitched, the film takes a turn into a romantic comedy as Isabel and Jack fall in love.
Isabel then goes against her father’s (Michael Caine) wishes and tells Jack that she is actually a witch in real life.
Bewitched appears to be more of a love story than the recreation of the beloved 1960s comedy series.
