Fuller clinches narrow victory

DENNIS Fuller squeezed out a narrow victory in B Grade and overall by scoring 43 points off his 15 handicap at the Emerald Golf Club last Saturday. The course rating was set at 70.
Chip Litchfield, who came in next with 42 points off 12, redefined the term shank with his drive on the 18th to clutch defeat from the jaws of victory. His 42 was still good enough to get the prize for A Grade.
Ian Scott (26) proved the master in the C Grade when he scored 34 points to win.
Others who scored well were, Ross Martin and Greg Haymes with 41, Steve Miller 40 with Peter Clowes and Peter Coniglione both having 39.
Nearest the pins were won by Leigh Morison on the 12th, Litchfield the 13th, Martin on the 17th, while Coniglione walked away with the honours for the pro pin on the 18th.
Next Saturday, the AGM will be held at 9am, with no competition golf rounds to be played till after the finish of this meeting. The February Monthly Medal will be there for the taking for the winner.
