THE second half of the season started with one-day games.
Under 17(1 ): Monbulk won the toss and went in to bat against Knoxfield. Monbulk made a good score of 149, with Brendan Wilson making 31, supported by Justin Creed 18, Tristan Bradbrook 16 and Sam Goland 13.
In reply, Knoxfield made 8/66.
Under 15(2) Grade: Monbulk batted first against Ferntree Gully, making 9/83 (Thomas Hutchins 10, Bryn Evans 9, Brad Hilton 7). Ferntree Gully won the game with 2/146. Two Monbulk bowlers shared the wickets, with Bryn Evans and Dean Gray one apiece.
Under 13(2A) – Monbulk Gold: Monbulk Gold made a good score of 4/129, with Kyle Grenda 27 not out, Daniel Carr 20 not out, and Jeff Johnston 16. In reply, the visiting team Upwey were 6/86, giving Monbulk the win. Daniel Carr took 2/5,with Kelsey Currie, Emmett Williams and Dale Eagle one each.
Under 13(2A) -Monbulk Maroon: Monbulk Maroon provided a good bowling effort, keeping South Belgrave to 5/72, with Joel McInnes 1/3, Nick Keegan 1/8 and Lachlan Gleeson 1/13. But slow scoring by Monbulk early in its innings did not put enough runs up to take the game (Michael Wolfe 10 not out, Brodie Emmett 10, Robby Hall 7 not out).
