PET owners have the best of two worlds at the Mad About Pets stores of which there are now two at the Mountain Gate Shopping Centre
With more than 8000 products stocked, Mad About Pets caters for everyone from the owner of the beloved family pet to the professional breeder.
Puppies, birds, small animals, fish, reptiles and, occasionally, kittens are available with specialised staff on hand to provide lots of assistance and sound advice.
Since opening in 2004 Mad About Pets has become one of Melbourne’s most exciting pet shops.
Mad About Pets owners Karen and Mark Peele have responded to customer demand by opening a second shop a few doors down from their current location at Mountain Gate Shopping Centre.
Shop 58, the original store is now stocking birds, fish and reptiles and associated products including very cheap fish tanks and accessories, cages, bird toys, food and bulk seed.
The newer Shop 55 stocks all products for dogs, cats and small animals.
Customers can enjoy watching puppies playing in their spacious puppy pens.
Everything that is needed for pets is there, including flea treatments, premium foods, fresh meat, bedding kennels, hutches and all other associated products.
Mad About Pets offers pet grooming at very competitive rates and would like to introduce new groomer Angie.
Angie has worked with dogs and cats for eight years and in that time, has groomed hundreds of dogs; small, large, timid and boisterous dogs.
Angie is very particular about grooming and is sure to groom your pet to the specific style you would like. The pet shop would also like to welcome Julija, a qualified dog trainer and behaviourist.
If you have a behavioural or training problem with your pet, Julija can help steer you in the right direction.
Puppy classes are currently being developed and will become part of the wide range of services offered in the very near future.

The stores are open 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Sunday with late night trading until 7pm on Friday.
