THE City of Knox was 40 residents richer after this year’s Australia Day citizenship ceremony.
People of about 15 different nationalities came together for the ceremony at Knox Civic Centre, which took place after the Australia Day Awards and flag-raising ceremony last Thursday.
Sudanese couple Peter Kual Kuc and Poni Gori were among those taking the oath, along with their four children.
Mr Kual Kuc said he aimed to spend the rest of the day celebrating under the Australian flag.
“We’ll be at home with friends and have some soft drinks and Australian food,” he said.
