Thanks to friends

KNOX mayor Jim Penna lavished praise on the municipality’s wildlife warriors and environmentalists earlier this month, thanking local friends’ groups during an open day at Blind Creek Billabong.
Volunteers and wildlife advocates gathered on Saturday 6 October to participate in a forum on the value of trees and wildlife in Knox, with members of the Friends of Blind Creek Billabong, Friends of Koolunga and First Friends of Dandenong Creek among those taking part. “It never ceases to amaze me how committed local people are to preserving and enhancing our environment,” Cr Penna said.
“We can all take a leaf out of their book when it comes to community-minded care for the precious ecosystems we all live in.”

Cr Penna was keen to acknowledge the importance of the work the volunteers do.
