Robbery victim is thrown down embankment

A 25-YEAR-OLD Boronia man was grabbed from behind and robbed while walking along the track between Tecoma and Belgrave railway stations.
The victim was half way between the two stations when a man grabbed him in a bear hug and placed his hand over his mouth at about 4.15pm on Friday 2 May.
Belgrave Police Sergeant Mick Hall said a second male attacker removed a wallet containing a substantial amount of cash from the victim’s pocket.
The victim was then flung down an embankment beside the track.
The attackers ran off towards Belgrave.
Sgt Hall said police were checking closed circuit television footage from the area at the time of the incident in the hope of identifying the attackers.
He said police were looking for two males of Islander or Maori decent aged about 25 and described as having a solid build.
One of the males was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans and was said to be about six foot or 183 centimetres tall.
Sgt Hall said the pair may have boarded a train at Belgrave station.
And two 13-year-old boys were robbed at Upper Ferntree Gully railway station at about 3.30pm on Sunday 4 May. The boys were approached by a group of about seven males aged between 12 and 16 dressed in bright coloured tops. A member of the group grabbed one of the boys and demanded he hand over his mobile phone, threatening to punch him if he did not.
