The Brookers won it in the first half, but let Mount Evelyn control the ball in the second half. A four-quarter effort will be required to match or better the tougher sides in the competition.

THE Brookers, up against the top side Emerald, tried hard all day and made it difficult for Emerald to get a run on and a good score on the board.
Well done to Jason Breakwell and Riley Wood for their 50th game.
Gembrook-Cockatoo 0.0.0 v Emerald 2.6.18.
Best: J. Breakwell, R. Wood, B. Standeven, L. Madden, K. Murphy.

GEMBROOK-Cockatoo got off to a slow start, but did enough to ensure a quarter time lead.
After that they started running a lot more and spent the rest of the game linking up beautifully with a lot of quick handballing to get out of trouble and moved the ball forward quickly.
The team’s second and third quarters were sensational, with plenty of scoreboard pressure.
More accuracy would have been good but, they still got the job done.
Best: Joel Jensen, Scott Hilder, Curtis Sweeney and Matt Templeton.
