LATE autumnal conditions were there at Emerald Golf Club last Saturday when golfers arrived for the annual three-club event.
Scoring decreed that the course rating be set at 67.
Con Whitlock (27) astounded all by coming in with 41 stableford points to win C Grade and also take the overall honours.
Captain Graeme White, (12) was the only A Grader to better his handicap when he came in with 38 points, while Steve Miller (20) won in a three-way countback with 37 points from Alan Ecclestone and Peter Clowes.
There were some other solid scores with Anthony Smith and Glenn Panting’s 40 points, and Dave Hunt and Peter Jones’s 36.
Graeme White was nearest the pin on the 7th, Dave Hunt on the 12th, and Leigh Morison the 13th, while Alan Ecclestone picked up the loot for the pro pin on the 18th.
Wednesday’s Obstinately Faulty Golf (OFG) was a five-club plus putter comp.
Mick Petrie (33) found this to his liking when he scored a net 61 to win.
He beat Moss Fuller’s (34) 62 and Kevin Miller (36) 68.
Next Saturday, golfers will be competing for the June monthly medal.
