Seniors
AN EXCELLENT first quarter by Olinda saw the Brookers playing catch up football all day. Gembrook -Cockatoo apart from the odd bit of resistance played far from their best to be comfortably beaten by a desperate Olinda.

Reserves
IN good conditions at Gembrook, an almost full Brookers side took on a totally different Olinda in what was to be a critical match. With the return of Smethurst, Paull, Ray Luscombe and newcomer Chris Mahlstedt, the Brookers went from strength to strength.
Olinda came out firing with their unknown new players and caught the young Brookers flat-footed and shell-shocked. The Bloods kept up the unrelenting pressure and with solid work from Hamilton, Martin, Sargent, Marshall and Michael Litterbach kept the margin to three goals at quarter time.
With a few changes in positions on the field the Brookers piled on six goals in the second quarter through the work of Smethurst, Krucizevic, Hampton, Green and Osseweyer. With Fegan, Ian Litterbach and Hilder providing targets up forward to great success saw the Brookers in at half-time two goals up.
New comer Chris Mahlstedt providing a target as well up forward and Sam Martin on Olinda’s full forward were shining lights in this comeback. The Brookers worked the ball well and ran out comfortable winners by 48 points.
Gembrook-Cockatoo 15.9.99 defeated Olinda-Ferny Creek 7.9.51.
Goal scores: Rhys Fegan 3, Damian Smethurst 3, Nicholas Green 2.
Best: Damian Smethurst, Nick Green, Ian Litterbach, Clint Osseweyer, Ryan Thomas.
Under 18
THE junior team for the Brookers played a great game of football to only go down to Olinda by a small margin. The team played a great game not being far behind their opponents at each turn.
Olinda 13.7.85 defeated Gembrook Cockatoo 9.10.64
Best: Ashley Sawyer, Mitch Thompson, Simon Heathcote, Sam Brindley.

Netball B Grade
THE players played a well-disciplined game of netball to beat their opponents by two goals in the final quarter.
The Brookers lead all day with the great defensive team of Hailey Clarke and Kye Stephenson. They were able to rebound every ball from the net pushing it through to the wing players.
At the offensive end, Fleur Glanville shot for goal with great accuracy following through and rebounding anything that missed. At times she had both defenders sticking to her like glue but she managed to overcome this by positioning herself to her advantage. The Brookers lead by four goals going into halftime and to Olinda’s credit both sides were even coming into the last quarter. The Brookers just held on to record their first win. Gembrook Cockatoo 29 defeated Olinda-Ferny Creek 27.
