A COCKATOO family is praying for the safe return of their two beloved dogs.
The Drysdales fear for their dogs’ lives after they went missing more than three weeks ago.
They don’t know if the dogs, Harry, an eight-year-old golden retriever, and Charlie an 18-month-old beagle, are dead or alive.
Trevor Drysdale said the dogs went missing after dinner on Friday.
Mr Drysdale said he went to check on the family pets after dinner the night they went missing but was faced with an empty backyard.
He believes the pair got lost while chasing after a fox.
“They probably wandered too far from home and couldn’t find their way back,” Mr Drysdale said.
The family has since spent every spare moment searching the surrounding area for their beloved hounds.
“We are just hoping they are still alive,” Mr Drysdale said.
“We hope that if someone does have them that they are caring for them.”
Since posting fliers around the hills offering a reward for the dogs’ safe return, the family has received a number of sightings around Emerald and Macclesfield.
But still the dogs remain missing as the Drysdales have yet to sight the dogs themselves.
Mr Drysdale is calling for anyone who may have seen the dogs to contact him on 5968 1048 or 0424 173 989 or take them to a local vet or the pound.
“We just want them to be safe,” he said.
