THE allure of the games has proved too strong for Knox Ford Raiders veteran Chelsea Laing as she returns to training.
Laing announced her retirement last year but has now decided to put in one more season on the court.
Laing started her basketball career as a nine-year-old playing at Blackburn Bombers.
But it wasn’t long before she moved to play with Nunawading Spectres, before finishing her junior career with the Melbourne Tigers.
Laing then went on to bigger and better things playing in the SEABL league at Kilsyth, which led to a season playing for Dandenong in the WMBL.
For the last three years, Laing has played for Knox Ford Raiders in the SEABL league.
In June last year, Laing was the first female basketballer to reach the milestone of playing 300 SEABL games and had every intention of hanging up her boots.
But the veteran has returned to training, looking for success and determined to get through the rigours of another season.
