A MONBULK family is appealing for help after their pension was stolen last week.
The cash was stolen when their home-help lady was doing their food shopping.
She had put the purse down for a few seconds, but when she turned around it was gone.
The purse was stolen shortly after 10am on Wednesday 3 September outside the fruit shop in Main Street, Monbulk.
More than $700 in cash as well as a watch were stolen with the purse.
The family, who wished to remain anonymous, is appealing for help as the money was their pension money for the next two weeks.
“Our home-help lady felt really guilty so she put all our shopping and bills that had to be paid on her credit card,” they said.
“She can’t afford that and now we have to pay her back too, we don’t know how we will pay it.”
