KALPARA Park Alpacas was established by Bob and Helen McLeod in 1991 with two alpacas which were agisted elsewhere at the time.
“The alpacas were moved to our own farm in Tynong in 1993,” said Bob, who explained that there are two breeds of alpaca, Suri and Huacaya.
“Kalpara Park breeds huacaya alpacas, and currently we have available for sale wethers for pets or guards against predators," he said.
“Wethers are ideal with sheep while lambing or goats while kidding,” he added.
Also available at Kalpara Park are pregnant females, somewith cria (young) at foot in most colours, certified males and potential stud males and weanlingmales and females.
During the Kalpara Park open weekend on 11 and 12 October, Bob and Helen will also have alpaca garments and products available to look at and buy.
