LUCIOUS berries are now ripe for the picking.
Blue Hills Berries and Cherries in Silvan have the perfect opportunity for people to pick their own fruit.
Ripe strawberries are now in season and offer a great complement to any dessert.
Blue Hills offers visitors the chance to pick their own fruit with its U-pick program.
The farm was the first to start the u-pick revolution in the area more than 30 years ago.
Owner Lorraine Chapman said came up with the idea by sitting in her berry orchard with a pair of scales and a couple of signs inviting people to start picking.
Mrs Chapman said at the time people thought it was a great idea to get fresh berries straight from the vines.
She said even more berries would be available later this month from raspberries to loganberries and Silvan blackberries. Visitors will even get to start picking cherries late next month.
Those wanting to pick their own strawberries straight from the garden can visit the farm at 27 Parker Road, Silvan.
