THE Do Drop In cafe has been operating for just short of a year with new owner Ron Rhodes.
Located in Emerald, the cafe offers an extensive daytime menu to cater for all tastes. Breakfast starts at 9am with a range of healthy options including eggs Benedict, croissants, muffins, homemade cakes and scones to go with freshly brewed coffee and a selection of continental teas.
At evening time, The Do Drop In changes to a friendly and informal tapas and bar selling a range of continental beers and wines.
Ron has always enjoyed a glass of wine and has spent hours searching through local vineyards to bring customers the best wines at the most competitive prices.
“Watershed wines are without doubt one of the best from the Western Australian region,” he said.
“It is my favourite tipple to try either on its own or with food.”
Ron is also a regular visitor to the vineyard and a shareholder in the company, planting his foot firmly where his mouth is.
A great tapas “style” menu with continually changing dishes gives customers the best choice of flavours from around the world.
“On the menu we have some Spanish favourites like tortilla with a Mediterranean dressing, chicken and chorizo casserole and asparagus and fine beans with vinaigrette,” said Ron.
“This is mixed in with seared tuna with mango salsa and great tasting food like Thai chicken curry and sticky barbecue ribs.
“I always use my local butcher in Cockatoo and Emerald fruit bar for my vegies and personally buy the best products therefore supporting local businesses and promoting healthy eating.
“Good honest food and great portion sizes too present a unique dining experience at The Do Drop In cafe.”
Starting on 7 November the cafe is presenting an open stage night.
Local singers or songwriters are invited to come on down to take part in this fun night.
“We also have a big screen so sports lovers and musos are more than welcome — we will be pleased to see you,” said Ron.
