YARRA Ranges Police are hunting a 33-year-old Corinella man after they say they have uncovered a clandestine drug laboratory last week.
Police also believe the man has skipped bail on a number of burglary charges.
The man was charged earlier this month after the Yarra Ranges Tasking Unit (YRTU) uncovered a burglary ring in the Monbulk and Silvan district.
Police have linked him to more than 14 burglaries from farming properties in the area, which included the theft of ride-on mowers, trailers and chemicals.
The man was bailed to appear before the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 29 January.
Three other offenders, including a 41-year-old Narre Warren man and two Cranbourne women, one 36 and the other 31, were also charged and are awaiting summons on burglary.
YRTU officer Sergeant Phil Goodburn said the drug lab was uncovered last week after police seized a car at a Guy Road property in Corinella, which was suspected of being involved in the burglaries.
“These clandestine operations carry a high level of volatility in terms of chemicals…there is a danger to us and we now refer finds of this kind to the Major Drug Investigation squad.”
Police are searching for the 33-year-old Corinella man and urge anyone with information to contact police on 9751 1241.
