WITH AN explosion of colour Belgrave’s Karen Frazer will join veteran photographer Paul Colcheedas in a long awaited exhibition this month.
After more than eight months of planning the show is now open at the Lady Hawke Café in Mt Dandenong.
The 36-piece exhibition will run this month and features a number of acrylic paintings and large photographic prints.
Frazer has been working as an artist for more than 10 years but is excited about her first showing at Lady Hawke.
“We first booked in for the showing eight months ago,” she said.
Frazer said their work was a great collaboration of colour and life.
She said the inspiration for the exhibition came to her four months ago.
Frazer said it was like an epiphany, which came from looking at sparks flying from an open fire in to the night’s sky.
She has been working to re-create those fleeting moments of beauty in her work.
Frazer also said some of the pieces had been inspired by people in her life.
Warburton’s Paul Colcheedas has created a collage of colour with a number of two-metre long prints featuring various flowers.
He said the images represent the beauty of nature at its finest. A number of prints of birds can also be seen at the exhibit.
The show will be open until 28 February at the Lady Hawke Café, 1365 Mt Dandenong Tourist Road, from Thursday to Monday, 9am to 5pm.
