ACCLAIMED performer Ian Stenlake will star alongside his wife, Rachel Beck, in their new show, You And I.
The show will be at Dandenong’s Drum Theatre on Friday 20 February and Saturday 21 February.
The show is a journey of love and romance – with its ups and downs – and consists of the couple’s favourite musical numbers. It is a “celebration of music, essentially from our careers”, Stenlake said.
Both are accomplished performers in musical theatre and television.
Ian is starring in Channel 9’s Sea Patrol and is known for his leading roles in musicals such as Guys And Dolls and Oklahoma.
Rachel has performed for three seasons on Channel 7’s It Takes Two, and has delighted audiences for many years in musicals such as Beauty And The Beast, The Sound of Music and Singin’ in the Rain.
For this show they share their journey through musical numbers they have done over their many years of performing, something they had not had a chance to do before.
“It’s been fantastic working with Rachel,” Stenlake says. “I love listening to her sing, especially.”
Some of the songs included in the show are I Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, You Raise Me Up and Time After Time.
“It has a wide range of music, but especially contemporary,” says Stenlake, “they are songs that really inspire you.
