THE Worm Farm Waste System is a non-mechanical, single-chamber system which processes sewage, waste water and organic garbage using worm technology.
A company spokesperson said that observing the rain forest floor had been the inspiration for the design.
“The leaf litter, nuts, berries, bark and weeds fall to the ground and mulch down naturally, plus the worms, slaters and other bugs and insects eat the organic material. When processed through their gut, the end product is a lovely natural fertiliser which is why rain forests are such fertile areas.”
The Worm Farm Waste System processes food waste, including onions, dairy, meat, and bones, weeds, flowers and all other organic material generated, on site.
The environmentally sustainable solution translates into 90 per cent less garbage leaving a site for landfill disposal.
The Worm Farm Waste Systems are designed site-specific, with council permits arranged on behalf of clients.
A & A Worm Farm Waste Systems only uses installers employed, trained and accredited by the company. There are no service contracts, no smell and no maintenance, and systems do not require de-sludging.
The company designs and installs systems for food manufacturers, restaurants, schools, unit development sites, ski lodges, oil refineries, staff canteens and anywhere organic waste is generated.
All organic waste is processed by the worms and may only leave the system in the form of worm castings.
Combined with the processed waste water, the worm castings and some worm eggs contribute to the benefit of the natural liquid fertiliser.
