PHOTOGRAPHER, Nick Anchen is sharing his visions of the Dandneongs from behind the lens.
The Ferntree Gully train driver and author-publisher last week released two new coffee table books featuring some stunning shots of the hills and Puffing Billy.
“I wanted to show Puffing Billy and the Dandenongs from a different perspective,” Mr Anchen said.
He has now released seven books in two years, including ones on the tourist railway and the Dandenongs.
Mr Anchen said a lot of the photographs had been left over from previous books.
“I thought it would be nice for locals and tourists to have a small coffee table book,” he said.
As a Puffing Billy volunteer, Mr Anchen has shown a different side of the iconic tourist railway.
“Puffing Billy in the Modern Era” has a stunning array of shots of all seasons, including some behind the scenes pictures.
“I wanted to give it a modern twist … all the books out there are written from the historic perspective,” Mr Anchen said.
The other book, Images of the Dandenongs, also features a number of shots of local flora, fauna and wildlife.
Mr Anchen will be signing copies of his new books at the Monbulk newsagency on Saturday from 9am to 12pm.
The books cost $24.95 are now available from the Belgrave Book Barn and at the Monbulk newsagency or by calling Mr Anchen on 0405 530 323.
