EMERALD Primary School’s rising stars recently got the chance to strut their stuff in an Idol talent competition.
For the past three months students have been putting their best foot forward in the battle for the Idol title.
They went head-to-head in singing, dancing and instrumental.
Students performed in the music room each lunchtime in front of their peers who had the deciding vote.
Each student nominated his or her favourites, and the performers with the most votes in each section took out the title, winning a Venus Flytrap.
Hundred of votes were cast to determine the winners, with a strong talent pool making it a tight finish.
Tylah was named the best solo and group dancer, along with partner Brylee.
Other winners included Madie, Abby, Cassie, Alice, Tjitske, Jaime and Grady for their powerful instrumental displays.
Winners also put on an encore performance at the school’s assembly last Monday (23 March).
Principal Mark Carver said it was fabulous to see so many children taking part in the competition.
