MOVIE-GOERS can support a local CFA crew and check out a new comedy at Knox Cinemas on Friday 24 April.
Upper Ferntree Gully Fire Brigade will receive proceeds from the charity screening of The Boat That Rocked.
The unit lost its main tanker while fighting Upwey’s Nixons Road blaze in February.
Brigade captain Peter Smith was grateful for the community’s ‘overwhelming generosity’.
“We send you our collective, heartfelt thanks,” he said.
Mr Smith and other brigade members will attend the event.
The Boat That Rocked stars Bill Nighy, January Jones, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Gemma Arterton and Emma Thompson and is rated M.
Tickets are $25, including soft drink and popcorn and are available at the box office from 5.30pm on the day. The film will hit the screen at 6.30pm.
