GARDERNERS have even more reason to be inspired by the hills this spring.
As part of a plan to rejuvenate the region a new event, Inspiring in Spring – The Dandenong’s Garden Festival, will feature some of the finest blooms.
Using the romantic hide-aways, enchanted forests of the hills and a wide range of activities, the festival aims to celebrate the region’s diversity.
The festival will include the National Rhododendron Gardens Spring Floral Festival, Azalea Show and the inspiring Hanami Cherry Blossom Festival.
Tesselaar Tulip Festival will also be a favourite with visitors and locals.
The Ferny Creek Horticultural Society Flower display, Wandin Field Days, potting workshops, botanical and horticultural talks, flower arrangement and cooking workshops will all be on show.
There will be something for everyone including activities for the kids.
A number of private gardens will also be opened to the public including some first-timers.
The festival will run from 12 September to 18 October.
