EMERALD Craft and Produce Market is getting ready for its first birthday bash.
The popular market has been in its current location for more than a year and is held on the third Sunday of every month from 9am to 3pm. The next market day on Sunday 16 August will celebrate the milestone with a free raffle for all shoppers with plenty of prizes donated by stall holders. There will be something for everyone to enjoy at the market from live music, buskers, balloons and face painting for the kids.
Locals and visitors are being urged to mark this day in their calendar to do their shopping locally and support local businesses.
More than 25 local and friendly stall holders sell a range of goods from homemade, home-grown to freshly produced items. Stalls are located between the Post Office and Commonwealth Bank sites on the corner of Kilvington Drive and Main Street, Emerald.
Community groups are also encouraged to contact the Emerald Community House to check on availability of spare sites which are provided free of charge for fundraising or promotion activities.
All proceeds from the market go towards the annual PAVE (Performing and Visual Arts in Emerald) festival which is held in April each year by the Emerald Community House.
