HUNDREDS of fashionistas descended on Monbulk last week for Jenny’s Shoppe annual fashion parade.
Two parades were held last Thursday (17 September), revealing some of this summer’s top fashion.
Funds raised from the day will go towards the Monbulk Christian Fellowship.
More than 18 models from as young as 16 to 78 took centre stage on the catwalk, showing off 120 of this summer’s fashion.
The Melbourne Welsh Male Choir also kept the crowd entertained. Shop owner Ellen Kop said it was fantastic to see so many people supporting the cause.
The parades raised more than $8500 for the fellowship.
“We were thrilled with both events…people were raving after the shows,” Ms Kop said. “We gave people a taste of what’s on offer this summer.”
Ms Kop said although proceeds were down on last year’s $13,000, it was still a great result.
She said people had travelled as far as Warragul, Mornington and Seymour despite bad weather conditions.
Ms Kop said it was also great to see people continuing to support the parade despite the ongoing economic crisis.
“We were really thrilled,” she said.
