DRIVERS were lucky to escape injury in a dramatic three-car collision in Mount Evelyn last Friday (30 October).
A 23-year-old Mount Evelyn woman turned left into Swansea Road from York Road, heading towards Montrose, just before 8.30am.
She accelerated as she rounded the bend and tried to overtake a bus but lost control of her car’s rear in the wet conditions.
Her car crossed the median strip into the path of oncoming traffic, struck the front of another vehicle, and collided head-on with a third.
Police, CFA and ambulance crews attended. Acting Sergeant Graeme Rust said it was pure luck no one was injured.
