Thrill of the dance

THE Hillside Academy of Dance has entered its 15th year of fun filled dance classes at Belgrave South Community Centre.
With classical ballet, jazz, tap, stretch and strength, contemporary, singing/vocal coaching, funk/hip hop and acrobatics classes as well as exams and competitions, there is something for everyone to enjoy from pre-schoolers to advanced dancers.
Hillside offers great fun classes with qualified teachers for those who love to dance but don’t wish to compete or take exams.
It also caters for students who wish to be more involved in the dancing world with examinations in Cecchetti International Classical Ballet and Southern Federation of Dance Jazz and Tap, and opportunities to compete in competitions and attend auditions and workshops throughout the year.
“Dancing at Hillside allows students to make new friends and gain self confidence in a fun, structured and safe environment,” principal Julie Halliday said.
“The annual end-of-year-performance is always a fun time for all to get together and show what they have accomplished throughout the year – in full costume and makeup everyone shines!”
