PHILLIP Island Grand Prix circuit has a range of activities to keep kids of all ages – even the young at heart – busy for hours this school holidays.
Kids aged over 10 and taller than 148 centimetres can drive themselves on the 760 metre scale replica Grand Prix circuit go kart track.
Adults can accompany children aged between five and 10 years on tandem karts.
Every driver receives a printout of their lap times for a memento and bragging rights.
The largest GP slot car in Australia suits all ages. Drivers use a trigger-action hand controller, and separately powered lanes allow adults to test themselves alongside the youngest of competitors.
Kids also have the chance to win an iPod Nano in the history of motorsport quiz. Kids and adults alike will be fascinated with interesting facts and the winner will be selected on Sunday 11 April.
Circuit visitors can also buckle in for the real deal – an adrenalin-pumping triple lap lightning ride around the Phillip Island circuit with an experienced racing driver. This is limited to availability and must be pre-booked. Bookings can be made on 5952 9400.
Visitors can also relax with a latte and lunch in the champion’s café and take a stroll in the tranquil water gardens. The gift shop is overflowing with racing memorabilia to capture the spirit and excitement of the circuit experience.
Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit is located in Back Beach Road in Cowes.
