YARRA Ranges Youth Services has organised a host of school holiday activities from 20 September to 1 October for young people aged 12 to 25.
The calendar of events includes a trip to Melbourne Zoo, Zumba class, photography workshop, learn to skateboard session and an introduction to self defence.
Activities are priced between free and $12 and transport is available.
The program also includes two events on the Fridays of the school holidays. On Friday 24 September there will be a free outdoor youth event at Upwey Skate Park presented by the Youth Services, Upwey Township Group and Hilltop Sounds event committee.
The event will feature local musicians, and artists who will create new artwork for the skate park.
The fully supervised, drug and alcohol free all-ages event will run from noon until 4pm. On Friday 1 October, in celebration of Mental Health Week, Youth Services will host the second annual Elevate Youth and Family Festival at Yarra Junction skate park.
The festival will run from 11am to 3pm and will feature a range of fun and free activities for community members of all ages including a BMX competition facilitated by the YMCA, jumping castle, rock climbing wall, face painting, petting zoo, free barbecue, live music performances from local artists and more.
