KEEN quilters can support Breast Cancer Network Australia and check out the best in stitching and patchwork in Lilydale this month.
Local sewing group Barb’s Girls organised The Quiltdownunder fundraiser.
The inaugural exhibition and auction in 2007 raised $32,500. This year’s event will feature 150 unique quilts for sale and auction.
More than 200 participants have designed and created the handmade quilts, which range from wall hangings and lap quilts to cot and queen-sized bed covers.
Many are embellished or embroidered.
The Quiltdownunder Exhibition is open daily from 9am to 5pm from 11 to 15 October and 9am to noon on Saturday 16 October at The International, 471 Maroondah Highway, Lilydale.
There will be an auction dinner on the Saturday. Dinner tickets are $50 each and can be booked until 11 October by calling Dianne on 9726 5493.
Pre-auction bids will be accepted from 1 October via www.quiltdownunder.com.
