HORTICULTURE and agriculture’s top products and services will be on show at the 41st annual Wandin-Silvan Field Days this month.
Exhibitors from Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia and South Australia will display their wares, alongside those from regional and country Victoria and local and metropolitan areas.
Visitors can check out farm machinery, light industrial equipment, cars and bikes, irrigation equipment and water tanks – and get the latest information on pest and weed control, fertilisers and chemicals.
Demonstrations will feature new equipment, including chainsaws, ride-on mowers, water sprayers and more, as well as techniques and tips.
Government authorities will also exhibit, as will finance, real estate, insurance, employment and telephone experts and grower organisations.
The Yarra Valley Machinery Preservation Society will present a working display of restored machinery from yesteryear.
Local crafts and produce will feature in the popular general interest marquee, including patchwork, lavender products, Tupperware, ladies and children’s clothing and confectionery.
Visitors can also check out weaving, blacksmithing and other demonstrations.
The Wandin Silvan Field Days Ute Muster also makes a return. Entry details are available on the event website.
Wandin Silvan Field Days is on 15 and 16 October at Wandin East Recreation Reserve.
Visitors should follow signs to the ample free on site parking.
Event entry is $10 for adults, while children under 15 are free. Readers can visit www.wandinsilvanfielddays.com.au for more information.
