TESSELAAR’S Tulip Festival has closed its buds for another year.
The tourist mecca endured a sluggish start to its tulips’ bloom but third generation managing director Paul Tesselaar said warmer weather earlier in the month really brought the festival to life.
“Overall, the festival went really well,” he said.
“Lots of singing, dancing, eating and good times were had by all.”
Mr Tesselaar said the rain over the last two weeks had minimal impact on the festivities.
“We were really fortunate with the rain,” he said.
“We had some affect us but thankfully mostly during the week and not during our themed weekends.”
“We’re looking forward to next year’s festival, striving to make it even better and more festive.
“We’re aiming to replicate the relaxed weekend atmosphere during the week as well.”
