About 500 people turned up to enjoy the festivities, which included a performance by the Victorian Police Show Band.
They played a range of songs, from “Nut Bush City Limits” to “Bananas in Pyjamas”, as well as Lady Gaga and Katy Perry songs, and had everyone up dancing.
Organiser and teacher at the school Melissa Bourke said the event went very well and the band performed brilliantly.
“Everyone had a fantastic night,” she said.
“The band was amazing, they had everyone up and rocking. Everyone was pleasantly surprised by how good they are.”
The event provided an opportunity for students, families and staff to share an evening together and helped build community spirit and strengthen the partnerships between home and school.
All the families who attended had a very good time and were more than satisfied with the barbecue and the band.
“The kids are all rapt with it and the parents are all very happy with the night,” Ms Bourke said.
“Overall, it was a good night. There are now very high expectations for following years.”
