ON SATURDAY April 9, Narre Warren Skate Park will get ready to rock as it plays host to the Rock ‘n’ Skate BMX and Skateboard Competition.
The event is scheduled as part of Casey’s celebrations of National Youth Week, which will run from Friday 1 April until Sunday 10April 2011.
Sponsored by 7-Eleven, Rock ‘n’ Skate will combine youth skateboarding and BMX competitions with live music and is a fully supervised drug, alcohol and smoke free event.
“This event is a great chance for young people and families to get together and have fun. I’m delighted to see an event like this organised and promoted by our local young people,” said City of Casey mayor Shar Balmes.
Local bands We Rob Banks, Strickland and First Base will rock the 7-Eleven stage, as will hip-hop crew Kick Back Kids.
Rock ‘n’ Skate will run from 10am to 4.30pm. Entry is free and other attractions on the day will include food stalls, free giveaways and amusement rides.
