Girls mean business

YOUNG women from schools across Casey received advice and insight from professionals in their desired careers at the Girl Guides Victoria and Women of Note Casey Mentor’s Breakfast last week.
Year 11 students attended the annual breakfast which aims to encourage and inspire young women as they plan their career paths by providing them with the opportunity to meet women who are successful in a variety of roles.
Year 12 Haileybury College student Grace Valenti was the MC of the event, held on Thursday 24 March
Australian fashion designer Jenny Hoo was the guest speaker at the event.
Jenny Hoo, who has a very successful self-titled fashion label, is one of the country’s most recognised fashion identities.
Her first job was an apprenticeship with Australian designer Carla Zampatti, where she later became production manager. She also worked with Cue Design before launching her own fashion label.
In the past 15 years it has grown to a successful store attracting women from all walks of life.
Jenny explained to the students the importance of dreaming big, having passion, being dedicated, overcoming challenges and having someone to look up to.
