MADDISON Fenton – who won gold with her discus throw at the recent Victorian Little Athletics Association championships at Olympic Park – has collected the Don Lowe club person of the year at the Narre Warren Little Athletics Club.
Maddison broke two club records – previously held by her sisters – during the year.
The Hendy family award for the adult club person of the year was won by John O’Dea, with Greg and Eve Farley presenting a family award to the club’s best first year girl, under-6 athlete Sami Lane, and under-9 boy Jamie Duggan.
State representatives Christopher and Maddison Fenton, Joshua Booker and Nathan Kirk were presented with a special club medal for their efforts this season.
Six-year service award winners were the Dilorenzo triplets, Bridget, Emily and James.
President Steve Fenton, re-elected to the position at the AGM last Friday, presented an outstanding service award to Belinda Savage, for her support of the club as an athlete, parent and long-serving committee member.
First place age group winners were Tianii Savage, Maddison Fenton, Katelyn Cox, Kylie Lawson, Alyssa D’Amelio, Caitlin Montibeller, Ellie Keen, Tahlia Lane, Renee Vancuylenberg, Preslie Johansson, Nathan Kirk, Liam Kirk, Christopher Fenton, James Dilorenzo, Bradley Hall, Jake Johansson, Joshua Booker, Caydn Lane, Adam Booker and James Khawli.
Second place age group winners were Melina McCallum-O’Dea, Kelly Welsh, Chloe Khawli, Ashlee-Anne Faulkner, Bridget Dilorenzo, Jessica Welsh, Olivia Brown, Natalie Brown, James Veitch, Mitchell Khawli, Malcolm Elliot, Lachlan Vancuylenberg, Tyler Laing, Jake Allen and Ashton Allen.
Star Award winners were Emily Dilorenzo, Kristen Montibeller, Sami Lane, Corey Kirk, Tyler Kirk and Ethan Kirk.
Participation award recipients were Charli Faulkner, Destiny Tuhi, Michaela Cornford, Patti Faulkner, Emma Bloomfield, Shadae Tuhi, Chloe Duggan, Arnela Haisila, Sienna Tuhi, Ethan Cornford, Navarre Haisila, Ta-j Haisila, Jamie Duggan, Scott Arthur, Eyda Haisila and Lachlan Cornford.
The cross-country season at the Dandenong Little Athletics Centre starts on 30 April.
