Grants up for grabs

LOCAL community not-for-profit groups and organisations are encouraged to apply for the City of Casey’s 2011/12 Community Grants Program, which can provide funding of up to $3000.
The program aims to encourage the development and enhancement of services and programs within the municipality.
The following categories are available under the Community Grants Program.
Art and Culture: Assisting in the growth of quality arts and cultural opportunities in Casey, this grant is for things such as displays, programs or workshops, music, visual and literary arts, performances, one-off art-based events and historical activities.
Events: These grants support the development of new and existing community events in Casey. They also encourage community-based organisations to develop and conduct events that showcase their talents or sporting abilities, and provide public entertainment that celebrates diversity within Casey.
Diversity and Harmony: These grants support projects and programs which promote and celebrate the uniqueness of the City of Casey which is culturally-diverse, accepting of people of all abilities and inclusive of all residents.
Health and Wellbeing: These grants support projects or programs which have a focus on social, physical or mental health, improving access and participation by people with disabilities, or providing recreation and/or leisure activities for all ages.
Applications for community grants will be accepted until 5pm, Friday 13 May.
