POLICE have slammed the behaviour of a driver who they said was speeding over the long weekend.
They say a 29-year-old driver on the Princes Highway, Springvale, was detected travelling at 183 kilometres per hour in an 80-kilometre zone in the early hours of Saturday 11 June.
Police say the car then accelerated to 203 kilometres per hour before the vehicle was intercepted.
Sargeant Allen Inderwisch of the Dandenong Highway Patrol said speeding was “extremely dangerous.”
“If you were to lose control of the vehicle at that speed you’re not only likely to kill yourself but other drivers as well.”
The Endeavour Hills man had his Holden Monaro sedan impounded for 48 hours and was charged on summons.
