CASEY residents interested in pursuing a career with Victoria Police are invited to a recruitment information session next week.
The information session will be held at 6.30pm on 8 August at 6.30pm at the Victoria Police Academy in Viewmount Road, Glen Waverley.
It will cover the role of police in the community, minimum entrance requirements, the recruiting process, the Victoria Police Academy, operational policing, conditions and entitlements and job opportunities.
Victoria Police hopes to recruit an additional 1700 police and 940 Protective Services Officers (PSOs) over the next four years. Jobs are available in a variety of areas including prosecutor, detective or crime scene officer, youth or multicultural liaison officer, crime squad officer, Traffic Management Unit officer and more.
The session will also cover information for people interested in a career as a PSO including the role of PSOs, training and operational powers and how they will support police on the Victorian railway network.
